WHAT we teach: We know you want a handout and we are going to give it to you!!! We tell you exactly WHAT to study and HOW to study so that you don’t have to read all of your nursing school books (that you know you did not read in nursing school… although every chapter is highlighted! ?) We cover core content, clinical scenarios, testing strategies, dispel rumors, and much more.
HOW we teach: We do not read to you. Our instructors make sure you understand the core content before moving to a new concept. We teach in basic terms because if you understand the basic concepts you will understand the complex. We teach in an integrated manner to help you “connect the dots.” The questions you will see on the NCLEX® are testing the ability to critically think and apply the knowledge you have already to situations you have not heard of or have been exposed to in a clinical situation.
You also have a personal contact person… your instructor or anyone at our office. If you are studying and you do not understand what was discussed in the review, you are welcome to call our office or send us an email and we will answer your questions.
Hurst Review is in your corner! If you do not succeed…. we do not succeed.

- Do you have separate classes for RN’s and PN’s to prepare?
Core concepts reviewed by Hurst are based on what every nurse needs to know to practice safely which is what the NCLEX®RN and NCLEX® PN evaluate. For this reason, our live and online Hurst Review course designed to prepare both the RN and PN student for their boards.
The role of the PN is constantly expanding and the major difference that we assume in our program is in the area of management and delegation. We do caution our PN students to be sure to apply the limitations that the nurse practice act of their state defines in delegation as it is different in every state. In our scenarios, we focus on concepts of setting priorities in patient assignments (who you see first) and room assignments (which patients can share rooms) all of which are PN decisions.

- How does Hurst review stay current with NCSBN test changes?
Hurst Review Services formally evaluates all student materials on an annual basis utilizing over 100 faculty who practice in all areas of nursing with many degree levels. In addition, Hurst attends the NCLEX® Invitational each year to be current on any changes that will affect the NCLEX® Exam. NCSBN is also continuously reviewing their test plan and alters it as needed every three years.
As new Test Plans are determined for the RN and PN, Hurst Review evaluates any changes required and incorporates them into the overall Hurst Review Program. Hurst Review Services continues to attend all meetings held by NCSBN and review research studies performed by the writers of the NCLEX® to ensure our core content review reflects any changes made available by the NCSBN.
