#2 is correct. Bacterial reaction: When a client receives their own blood the only potential reaction is that the blood, can become contaminated and cause a bacterial infection.

1. Incorrect: Allergic reaction: Cause thought to be a sensitive reaction to a plasma protein within the blood component being transfused. This reaction can’t happen if autologous.

3. Incorrect: Transfusion- associated graft vs. host reaction:  Occurs in immune-suppressed clients within 1 to 2 weeks after transfusion. This reaction can’t happen if autologous.

4. Incorrect: Hemolytic reaction:  This is caused by blood type or Rh incompatibility. This reaction can’t happen if autologous.
