The Hurst Review team is thrilled to introduce you to Hurst Ambassadors, a new partnership with nurses around the country who will help champion our mission and support incoming nursing students.

New nurses offer a unique perspective on the path from school to licensure. Not only can they offer an inside look into the Hurst courses, but they also can provide invaluable advice about how to succeed in nursing school and beyond.

Throughout the United States, nurses are leveraging social media to build accessible, inclusive spaces for other nursing students and professionals to connect. We are eager to elevate these voices in an official ambassador capacity.

In exchange for championing the Hurst mission online, our ambassadors will receive swag, supplies and subscriptions hand-selected by Hurst staff. Ambassadors preparing for the NCLEX® will also have the opportunity to take the Hurst review course of their choice at no cost.

Our first class of ambassadors are three amazing nurses with meaningful stories and insights to share. They are already inspiring our team in our mission to help as many students as possible pass the NCLEX® the first time and become safe, competent nurses.

Meet our ambassadors below.

Anthony Daniels

Anthony wanted to be a nurse ever since a male nurse cared for him during a trip to the emergency room in sixth grade. It broke the old stereotype for him that nurses must be women.

“It showed me that men could be caring, nurturing and compassionate as well,” Anthony writes.

After passing the NCLEX® with the help of Hurst, Anthony now works as an ICU nurse in Mississippi, where he enjoys focusing on patient care aspects such as hygiene, mobility and nutrition while also enhancing his critical care knowledge.

Outside of work, you can find Anthony working out at a local CrossFit gym, traveling and hanging out with friends.

Alana Jones

Ever since Alana was a little girl, she knew she wanted to be a nurse, but she didn’t think she could do the job. So, she pursued other professions first before finding her way to the nursing field.

After a nurse introduced her to Hurst Review, she passed the NCLEX® on the first try.

“I’ve never been happier in a career as I am as a nurse,” Alana writes.

Alana currently works in an oncology ICU, an area of nursing that she feels called to because of her family’s history with cancer.

When she’s not working, Alana loves yoga, knitting and hiking.

Amber Gustafson

Amber became a nurse because of its flexibility and opportunity for growth. Now, she works as a NICU nurse, where she loves bonding with families and teaching them how to care for their infants.

“There is nothing better than getting to help a mom hold her baby for the very first time,” Amber writes.

Amber used Hurst Review for NCLEX-PN® and NCLEX-RN® exams and passed on the first try for both.

Outside of nursing, Amber enjoys playing with her golden retriever puppy, reading and hanging out with friends.
